The Golden Triangle is a euphemism for a very troubled region where economic, social and welfare issues are submerged in vapors of forgetfulness on the parts of the three governments who share borders there. The region became famous for its opium production, and then for its distribution, and now for diverse illegal activities. The people who are swept into the margins here are ethnic minorities, denied civil rights, human opportunities, or even official identities. Village life is often a remnant of history; it's like stepping back into a time warp where there is no electricity, medical services, running water or sanitation, and where food is still caught and trapped as often as cultivated and grown.  Children are a liability as much as a blessing, especially girls. That's how human trafficking, slavery and AIDS came to the Golden Triangle.
My observations is that the CGT Inc. is doing a marvelous job performing miracles with the gifts you are giving. At this time the need for funds for food and clothing is valid, and pressing.
